Aaron and Nick with the rest of bsb (but not as slash lol)
Hi everyone, newbie here! *waves*
I saw a picture of Aaron when he was like 6-7 with his arms stretched out and up like he was asking for a hug or to be picked up.
And it just got me thinking of how lonely he would have/could have been without Nick and Brian and the others around, since Jane was more than a little focused on making him a star instead of being a mom.
Anyone wanna take a crack at a little ficlet on the subject?
If anyone wants to see the pic, just let me know... wasn't sure what the protocol was on posting links to pics here.
Thanks!

At 7, Aaron had seen more of the world than most people 4 times his age. Since he was 7 it was no consolation. He didn't care that people died without ever setting foot outside the town they'd been born in or that people saved years and years to be able to afford a trip to whichever small European country he was going to for 6 hours on Saturday. Truth be told, he handled it much like one would expect a 7 year old to.
He stomped his foot. He wanted to go with Nick. Nick was going to a different small European country and was very excited at the prospect of a whole day off from their mother.
At 7, even Aaron had figured out Jane was not the best mom out there.
Jane, however, put her foot down as well. Aaron was going. She did let him go play with Nick for a while. Aaron pouted but made his way to the room Nick shared with Brian.
Aaron didn't knock, he was 7, it was Nick. "NICK! Play with me!!" After announcing his arrival, Aaron threw himself at the lump on the bed.
Brian had been sleeping, fending off a cold. He blinked a few times and pulled his head out from under the covers to look at Aaron.
"Hey, pipsqueek. How you doin'?" Brian smiled, eyes a bit puffy and nose a shiny shade of red.
"You're not Nick."
"Well, now, I don't think so but let's check, just to be sure, ok?" Brian threw the covers back over his head and grabbed his own knees.
Aaron rolled his eyes but giggled anyway. Brian's voice was muffled when he spoke.
"Ok, Nick has those knobby knees, right?"
Aaron nodded his head enthusiastically. "REALLY knobby."
"Ok, these knees are normal looking. Let me check the ankles." Brian bent over more. Aaron, who was still lying on top of him, laughed as he rode the movement in blankets.
"Nick has those pokey ankles, right?"
"Pokey, pokey, pokey." Aaron accentuated each 'pokey' with a small bounce. Under the blanket, Brian grinned and bobbed with him.
"Ok, last thing, we need to check the tummy. Nick has a very ticklish tummy."
Aaron swiveled and giggled as Brian uncurled himself moving back until he was just sitting up.
Brian wiggled his eyes and fingers as he prepared to 'tickle' his own stomach. He counted, 1,2 and on 3 attacked Aaron's stomach instead. Peals of laughter came from the tiny body as it squirmed and wriggled trying to get away from Brian's fingers.
"Well, I guess we found Nick!" Brian exclaimed, a bright smile on his face.
"I'm Nick! I get to come to Lickandstine and sing with you guys!"
"Lichtenstein, Aaron. Yes! We've got two shows. You know all the moves, right?"
Aaron scooted up so he was on his own knees and did a few very Backstreet like dance moves. Brian looked appropriately impressed.
"Ok, we leave at 6am! You get to wake up AJ this time, last time he bit me!" Brian fake snarled at Aaron in imitation of an early morning AJ. Aaron laughed more and the conversation disintograted into jokes about what they would do while 'Aaron' went off with Jane in the morning.
From the doorway Nick watched as Aaron tried to tickle Brian without much success. He'd been to more places than Aaron had, done more shows and was quite used to the fact that as a mom, Jane was rather bad. Besides the age gap there was one major difference between Nick and Aaron.
At 14 Nick had learned to appreciate what he did and didn't have. With a smile he launched himself onto the bed, Brian, Aaron and all.

That was perfect, very much what I was looking for!
You did a great job of capturing the little boy Aaron used to be, and the little brother/big brother relationship he had with Brian and his own big brother...
(hopes that made as much sense here as it did in my head lol)
Thank you again for writing this!
