His forehead was wrinkled and his eyes were closed, Chris tried to concentrate on anything but his hand. It was difficult though, seeing as it had a mind and a heartbeat of its own. The last hour before he could take pills was always the hardest. His fingers burned, the muscle throbbed and ached and felt like it was swelling inside the cast. Chris banged his head against the back of the sofa in hopes of taking his mind off of the pain, unfortunately his skull hit cushion and all he felt was the strain in his neck from being bent back so far. He tried the breathing technique that JC had been doing even though Chris had teased him for doing lamaze on the bus. The couch dipped beside him, and cool fingers were on his skin, drawing slow circles on his temples. JC slid his fingers along the familiar tension spots along Chris’ hair line, jaw and neck, trying to relax him, stopping to knead the base of his neck and shoulders for long minutes. The muscles loosening under his touch.

One of the hands left Chris and returned to press a slick tablet against his lips followed by the cool edge of a glass. Cold water washing the pill down. Chris breathed deeply as the hands started moving again. The pain already starting to ebb.

Aw girl! I hope you feel better. I wish I could send you TrickLaC to make it all better. I'm glad you liked it.

That's very evocative - gets the miserable feeling of being in pain across very well.
