I don't know if this really fits your request, so feel free to leave it open. No beta, all mistakes are mine. This is what I thought about when I read your request...

Title: As Perfect As Candle Light

AJ planned everything out in advance, everything needed for a romantic dinner for two. He bribed Kevin to make the four-course meal so that he only had to reheat it. He got Howie to help set the mood with matching red tablecloth, napkins and candles.

At five p.m., AJ set the table, put the food in the oven, took a quick shower and dressed for dinner.

At six p.m., AJ had the food on the table, lit two long candles and sat down happy that everything fell into place. The only thing missing was Brian. The light danced on AJ's face as bright as his smile.

At seven p.m., AJ wasn't happy Brian still wasn't there. The food sat cold and the candles burned half way down, the light sparkling off the tear that ran down AJ's cheek.

At eight p.m., the candles were burned down and AJ sat in the dark. The light was out of the room and his mood.

At nine p.m., Nick called and told AJ that Brian was in an accident.
