BSB or Nsync - Anyone and Everyone

I'm serious about that too. Given the recent events with our boys I could just go for something loving and endearing and healthy and beautiful. I could really use the pick me up...

Lance/Joey: Dancing with the Stars: Lance's Season

I hope this is ok!

****Note: I don't actually know if the new pros are on a trial basis for their first season****

The first week had been a total blur. Joey had told him how intense Dancing with the Stars could be, but he'd always made it look so easy...

Lacy was part of the newest crop of professionals this year, and she totally wanted to shake the show up as much as she could, show the younger audience just how cool dancing could be. After all of those years hiding who he was, Lance could understand and it wasn't hard for him to agree. What was the worst that could happen?

It wasn't until after the judges scores for his second dance that he started to become uneasy. Len seemed really serious about his dislike of their dances and his scores were proof that they were doing something wrong. Still, their dances were solid and showed lots of style and potential. Lacey just hugged him and shrugged her shoulders. They'd just practice harder and nail the next dance so even Len couldn't help but be impressed.

Len was not impressed. True, they'd had one less day to polish their dance, but even he could tell that something had been a bit, well, off this time. Now that he thought about it, Lacey kept adding kisses to their dances, too. Was she not understanding that he's gay and in a committed relationship?

It was during the results show on week two that he started to really feel uneasy. They were one of the last four couples to find out if they were returning or not. Thankfully, they were among those dancing next week, but it had been a close call. Too close, in Lance's opinion.

Backstage, he was walking toward his dressing room when a strong set of arms wrapped around him from behind. "You're going a great job, Poofu," a welcome voice said.

"Thanks, Joe!" Lance smiled as Joey reluctantly let him go. They went into Lance's dressing room so he could change into his normal clothes.

"So, where are you off to now, clubbing with the gang?" Joey asked as he sat on a chair, stretching his legs out in front of him.

"I think I'm going to go home and get some rest," Lance said with a tired smile. "I need to watch the tapes of my performance so I can see where I need to improve. Len's not happy with my performance, but he's not really giving me much feedback." He took off his costume and put on his street clothes, taking the time to remove his makeup.

Joey raised an eyebrow. "Think about it, Lance. he is telling you what you're doing wrong. Your dances aren't traditional enough. You're letting Lacey make this all about her, her fangirl crush on you and bucking the establishment here. You need to lay down the law and take the focus back on you and your performance. Tell her you want to win and you know you're not going to do that if she keeps using choreography like she is."

Lance sighed as he bent down to tie his sneakers. "I don't want her to get mad at me, Joey."

Shaking his head, Joey reached out and ruffled his best friend's hair. "She'll survive. She's supposed to be a professional. Damn, I wish you'd have gotten Kym or Cheryl. You wouldn't be in this position then."

Lance's smile lit up his tired face. "I know, Joe. I'll tell her. Thanks for the advice."

"No problem, man," Joey answered, bumping Lance's hip with his own as they left the dressing room and turned out the light. "I know how you can repay me. Come over this Sunday for burgers and to hang out. Brianna misses you and Kelly's been asking if you're mad at us."

Before Lance could answer, Lacey skidded to a stop in front of them. "Hi Lance, Joey!" She said a bit breathlessly. "Are you coming out with us tonight, the two of you?"

Lance smiled gently and shook his head. "Not tonight, Lacey. I'm going to head home and spend some quality time with my boyfriend. I do want to let you know that we need to put more traditional dancing in our routines and give the judges more of what they want."

Lacey's eyes widened in shock. "But Lance, what happened to shaking things up on this show and reaching out to the kids?"

Lance raised an eyebrow at her and shook his head. "I'm not really worried about that, Lacey. I came on the show to win and the only thing that's saved us so far are the fans. We need the judges behind us, too."

Lacey watched Joey's hands rubbing Lance's shoulders as he spoke. "Does you boyfriend know just how close the two of you are?" She asked with a smirk.

"Thant was uncalled for," Lance said quietly as he tried to keep from snapping at her. "Joey is my boyfriend and everyone that needs to know, does. No more kisses in the choreography and I want it more traditional. We can use funky costumes and stuff, but I want the judges support too."

Lance waved his arm in dismissal as she opened her mouth to argue. "This isn't up for discussion. I'll see you at rehersal."

Joey had been silent the whole time, but he didn't hesitate to add his two cents now. "By the way, you might be a bit more accomodating to your star's wishes. I know you're under trial here this season. What do you think is going to happen if he goes home early in the season and everyone knows that it was because of your choreography, not his dancing? Think about it."

She watched as they left together, biting her lower lip. It looked like she wouldn't be going out after all. There was a new dance to choreograph the way Lance wanted it.

That's pretty much exactly how I think it should go, too.
