I'm a bit rusty, so apologies if this isn't what you were after.

Damn That Piggy!

Brian closed the lid of his laptop and put his hands shakily on his knees. He felt like complete crap. In fact, he was pretty sure he had been hit by a train, possibly more than one.

Swine flu. It had been in the news for a few months already, and he had gone into action as soon as promo started up again by taking vitamin supplements, getting extra sleep and not going out at night (not that he went out much anyway, but still). He had even tried to help the other Boys by sharing his preventative supplies. And yet, here he was, sweating like a pig, feeling like death and trapped in his hotel room until further notice like some kind of leper.

As far as he knew, everyone had already left. Jenn had called earlier, saying that there wasn’t much they could do, that appearances in NYC were now cancelled, that it would be better if they made their way back to LA and that he would have to make his own way back when he was allowed to leave. Lovely, he thought. There was also some suggestion of him writing a blog for the fanclub – the fans, after all were getting a little anxious, not knowing what was going on – so Brian had decided (possibly against his better judgement) to record a video instead. He would worry about how awful he looked in it later. Right now, all he wanted to do was crawl back into bed and continue dying like the pathetic creature he felt he was at that moment.

Brian, unsteadily and slowly, made his way to the bed and sat down on the edge. A wave of dizziness struck him and he shut his eyes, begging for the room to stop spinning. He put his hand to his forehead and wiped the beads of sweat that were forming on his brow.

A knock on the door made him open his eyes suddenly and he waited for the room to come back into focus.

“Room service,” the voice said, a raspy tone to it.

It didn’t take long for Brian to figure out who it was. “AJ? Is that you?” He asked, getting up slowly and heading for the door. He stopped short of opening it, instead just resting his hand on the handle.

“Yeah,” AJ said. “I brought you soup.” Brian smiled at the kindness of the gesture. Only AJ.

“I thought you went back to LA with the others?” Brian spoke, softly.

“I was going to, but then I thought that I would come and hang out with you.” AJ said, as though it was entirely possible for that to happen.

“How exactly? You can’t come in,” Brian said, rolling his eyes – regretting it immediately.

“I don’t care. I wanna come and take care of you,” AJ said earnestly. “Soup’s getting cold.”

“AJ, I’m not letting you in. You’ll get sick and this really isn’t fun to go through...” Brian said, gripping onto the handle of the door tightly to stop him swaying. “You can leave the soup outside – thanks, by the way – you should head back to LA.”

“Brian, I’m not leaving until you let me in,” AJ said. “You know I’m a stubborn bitch when I wanna be, so just open the door and you can get back into bed and I can feed you soup like I know you really want to.”

“You’re a freak,” Brian said, though the idea of getting into bed again was a really good one and being fed soup would be fabulous right now. He turned the key in the door and opened it. “If you get sick, I am gonna get in so much shit with Jenn and everyone else, you know that right?”

“Of course,” AJ said smiling as he made his way past Brian into the room. “Now get your ass back in bed and let me take care of you,” he said taking hold of Brian’s hand and leading him to the bed. Brian watched as he placed the soup on the bedside table and pulled the covers back – several tissues falling to the floor in the process. “Gross,” AJ said, grabbing hold of Brian’s hand again, helping him get into the bed.
