Still working on it.... Having a small problem. It's almost three pages and I only now introduce Justin. It's more of a Jc/Lance/Nicky stoy right now. I'm hoping to get Justin in, I just hope it works... Over a thousand words and counting.
Thsi is the first chapter it's broken into three parts, because it wont fit in one post...
"Complications" Chapter 1
"Lance, you are a slut." JC laughed as he sat next to his best friend in the high school cafeteria.
"I am not a slut; I am a player." The blonde with the deep voice replied, smirking at his best friend. Lance was checking out his short perfectly spiked hair in a small mirror that just fit the palm of his hand.
"Is there a difference?" The tall brunette mused as he inspected the mystery meat on his plate.
"Dude! There's a major difference!" Nick butted into the conversation and sat down on the other side of Lance. The tall, blonde basketball player was bursting with energy.
"And what do you know about being a player, Carter?" JC looked past Lance to roll his eyes directly at Nick.
"Ha! Sadly enough, Nicky Carter knows more about being a player than you do, Josh," Lance smirked, pocketing his mirror and smiling at his friend's lack of knowledge concerning the 16 year old basketball player.
"Damn right, Bass," Nick said as he pinched his nose with one hand while spooning mystery meat into his mouth. He turned slightly green as he began to taste what was sadly considered food by some government official. It took about five seconds for Nick to realize he should never eat "mystery" meat, and he bolted to the boys' room.
"Don't tell me. He's a player?" Josh rolled his eyes and pulled a banana out of his pocket.
-----
"Being a player is an art form. Being a slut is just... tacky," the boy with the bass voice stated as he took a piss after his last class of the day.
*flush*
"How is the former an art form and the latter... not?" the tall brunette replied from within the toilet stall. "I can't believe you're still throwing up, Nicky. You didn't even swallow."
"I don't know, but I don't have anything left to throw up," the basketball player moaned as he kneeled over the toilet and he let Josh rub his back.
The three friends stand at the restroom sinks, washing their hands. The brunette is still not convinced there's a difference between being a slut and a player. "Ok, run this by me again."
"As a player, he, or she as the case maybe, draws his prey into a complicated web of deception," the short blond started as he flicked the water off his hands.
"He has to know what to say, without over shooting the hoop and off the backboard or bricking it altogether," The tall blond piped in, as he wiped his hands on his jeans.
"He has to gain their trust... make them fall in love," Lance smirks with pride, "A really good player can become the foundation of their victim's life."
"That make it all the more sweeter when you crush their hearts," Nick adds as the trio leave the boys' room.
In Lance's bedroom, Nick is pasted out on the floor with a slice of pizza on his forehead, while Josh and Lance are lying on the bed. Josh is on his back in just his jeans and t-shirt and Lance on his side leaning halve over Josh.
"Now a slut just has to get into someone's pants..." Lance whispers as he walks his fingers up the center of Josh's chest. Josh can't keep his eyes off the slender pale fingers.
"Anyone's pants..." Lance moans as he slides his hand down Josh's cotton covered chest and abs to the black leather belt.
"Get them drunk and/or so hot 'n bothered," Lance drawls out, bypassing the growing bulge in he friend's jeans and rubs up on Josh's inner thigh from the knee.
"Get laid and move on..." Lance breathes into Josh's ear as his hand stops short of the bulging groin and slid off the bed and out of the room.
As Lance reached the doorway, he half turned towards Josh and ended with one final statement, "But being a player takes time and commitment."
-----
In the morning, Josh is showering, not bothering to close the curtain, Nick is brushing his teen, wearing only a damp towel, and Lance is spiking his short blond hair in the mirror, wearing only a pair of boxers.
"So, what makes Nicky a player?" Josh asked as he soaped up his lean chest.
"Well, that's the interesting part about Nicky boy. He's not just a player, he's an entrepreneur," Lance beamed with pride.
All Nick does is spit and smile his pearly whites.
"You see Nicky doesn't just play hot people. He plays people that will benefit his own needs... right now that need being basketball, or more to the point winning," Lance states while watching the soap slide off of Josh's body.
"I look at every basketball team we go up against and find their key player. Whether it's the one that glues the team together or the best offensive or defensive player," Nick bends down to rinse.
"He lures them in like a pro..." Lance steps towards Josh in the shower, while dropping his boxers.
"And when the time is right..." Nick drops his towel and follows the short blond's lead.
"He strikes," The two blonds pounce on the unsuspecting brunette.
The three lay in a naked pile in the shower laughing.
"I either fuck 'em or leave 'em just before the game. That's normally just enough to throw them off... occasionally I leave them hanging, never knowing if I'll come back." The tall blond laughed as he stood and dried off.
It's lunchtime again and today Josh is digging into his vegetarian sloppy joe. Lance would be too, if it wasn't for the hot, curly haired blond that just walked into the cafeteria.
Lance was completely and utterly entranced by this perfect specimen of the teenage male. It was a scorching hot day and the dream boy was wearing one of those tight "wifebeaters," that left nothing to the imagination... and Lance was loving it. He drank in the sight of the young stud, the bulging biceps, ample pecs...
"Dude, you might want to pick up your jaw from the table," Josh laughed quietly across the table.
"What?" the short blond was shaken out of his stupor.
"Whose the hottie that's caught you eye?" the brunette teased.
"What?!" Lance is still stunned at being caught staring.
"So who ever this guy is he's got more than just your interest..."
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Lance blushes and turns his attention to his sloppy joe and ignoring Josh for the rest of lunch.
-----
For over a week Lance stared at the nameless beauty and still knew nothing about him. Josh and Nicky had been no help, Josh constantly teasing Lance and Nicky always missing lunch to hang out with the new assistant coach, Kevin Richardson.
Lance was broken out of his daily trance when Josh dropping his tray across the table from his, saying, "It's Justin, Justin Timberlake."
"What?" came Lance's standard reply to anything that was said to interrupt his staring.
"Dream boy's name, it's Justin Timberlake. He just transferred," Josh stated without looking up from the tuna fish sandwich his mother made for him. She feared for him when she found out he'd lost ten pounds since he "tried" to start eating school lunches.
Lance blocked out the rest of Josh's words as he thought, 'The perfect name for the perfect boy.'
----- Tbc... Chapter 2 in the works... [in other words it isn't written yet :p] Tell me what you think and it might get me more inspired to finish... I hit a block! :(
Wow I loved it. I love that last line, 'The Perfect Name for the perfect boy.' When will Justin come into play? What will Lance think when he finds out Nicky played him? Will it cause a rift between the three? So many questions. . . . So little time. . . .
I'm thinking chapter 2 should be from Justin's Pov... well that's how I've started it... I don't want to jump from Justin to Lance so it might be a short chapter 2... I have two parts to chapter 2 already... I'll see if I can get part 3 to work from Justin's pov or I might stop chapter 2 at two parts and then do a chapter 3 from Lance's pov. But I think I can wrap it up in this second chapter.
Did you want a happy ending? Or an open ended one???
Happy ending?!?!?! Well there will have to be a chapter 3 somewhere down the line... I have Justin really hurt by Nicky. And Poor Lance is love sick. It may end... un-happy. *ducks and covers* *hands cupped to protect privates*
I should be able to write more in two or three days... unless I get hit my inspiration...
I don't kick privates; that's just mean. Anyway, how about Lance doing something dramatic to get Justin to realize he loves him, and won't hurt him. You could give Nick your un-happy ending. . .
If you'd asked Justin how his life was a month ago, he would have told you it was perfect. At sixteen he had it all, he lived with his loving mother, had great friends, was popular, got good grades, was the star basketball player on the team, and had the perfect boyfriend... Nick Carter. They went to different school, but they were the perfect match. They were both tall, blonde, good looking, good at school, and on their school basketball teams. Sure it was hard not seeing each other, since they went to different schools, but they made it work.
A month ago Justin had it all, now he had nothing. His mom lost her job and he was forced to move in with his dad, he had to transfer to a new school where he only knew one person, his boyfriend, the school's basketball team was full, Nick stopped returning his calls... and he just found Nick giving the assistant coach a blow-job in the locker room.
Now he was lonely sitting under a tree crying.
"Yo, kid, you ok? ...Well, of course, you're not, you're crying," a rough voice interrupted the curly haired boy's crying.
Justin looked up and wiped the tears from his eyes to take a good look at the rude, yet caring person. There before him was a skinny, short brunette with a pair of sunglasses on and a smirk. The brunette's hair was slicked back and sticking out the back of his head, jeans and t-shirt were worn and ripped, but still wearable, left sneaker had his big toe sticking out of it and yet his sock looked new, and he had black nail polish on his right hand.
"Hey, name's Alex, but everyone calls me asshole," the skinny brunette burst out laughing, and continued, "But you my friend can call me AJ."
Justin could help himself and laughed at this guy.
Aj sat down next to Justin and pulled out a brown lunch bag from his backpack. "You hungry, kid?"
Justin looked at his new friend and was afraid to take any food out of his mouth. Seeing this Aj laughed out loud, "Don't worry kid, despite my attire I aint starving. Though I had to the shopping this week... Mom had to work overtime at the diner today."
Hearing Alex talk about his mother with such love, made Justin feel he did have something in common with Alex. It took less than a week of listening to Alex talk about everything in his life, before Justin opened up about why he was crying that day.
-----
"Dude, that sucks," Alex stated across the cafeteria table at lunch.
"Tell me about it," Justin whispered as he held back the tears.
"Well, the best way to get over Nick is to go out and get laid," Alex suggested with a wink.
"I'm not like that, Aj. It has to be with someone I care about and love. I can't just go out and get laid or play someone else," Justin sounded defeated.
"Then don't play them... go with a player. You'll both have your fun and no one gets hurt," Alex continued, ignoring Justin's paling face, "Take Lance Bass over there. He's been checking you out all week. He's planning to play you like he's done with half the guys in this school."
Justin quickly turned his head to see a spiky blonde haired guy staring at him. Justin quickly turned away blushing.
"See, you get laid and over Nick, and Lance gets what he wants. No one gets hurt because you both know what it's about," Alex bit into his chicken sandwich. Justin could help be look back to find Lance still staring at him.
Justin couldn't get Lance's face out of his mind, but he couldn't get the fact that Lance was a player out either. He didn't want to be played again and he didn't want to date someone he knew was just like Nick.
But Lance kept staring at Justin with this look... He couldn't put his finger on what that look was, but it was there. He was sure the look wasn't about playing him... but maybe Justin just want there to be something more than just lust or a game. He wanted Lance to be different. Justin wanted to be loved and wanted proof he deserved to be loved.
Justin put Lance and Nick out of his mind. Well, he pretended to. He met Alex's boyfriend, Brian, and got sick every time they made out in school. He was jealous of them and sicken by the memories of Nick and him making out.
Now Brian and Alex didn't seem to have anything in common with Justin. Alex was a rebel who went out of his way to stick out and cause trouble and Brian was a choir boy/good boy. They didn't look like they belonged together, but they completed each other.
They were great guys and Justin was happy he'd become their friend. He even let them talk him into going to a party with them.
-----
The music was too loud and the soda was flat. In other words, the party sucked. Justin finally had enough of sitting on a couch watching Alex and Brian making out. He tried to get into the bathroom for some privacy, but it was filled with giggling girls.
Justin rolled his eyes as he grabbed a can of coke and headed out to the backyard. He was sadly disappointed when he the pool filled with people making out and being loud. Toeing off his shoes and socks, he dangled his feet on the surface of the water. He flicked open the soda and found himself with a face full of foam.
"You should be more careful, Chris' sisters like to shake up all the sodas before everyone shows up," A deep voice laughed as he handed Justin a towel.
Justin dropped the can into the pool and wiped off his face and shirt as best as he could. "Thanks. It's just the perfect way to end the week I've had."
Justin didn't even open his eyes, hoping the earth would just open up and swallow him whole, as the guy sat next to him on the pool's edge.
"That bad?" came the sympathetic reply.
"You wouldn't believe it. Trust me, you don't want to know," Justin opened his eyes to find his spiky haired, lunchroom observer sitting next to him. All Justin could do was sigh, as the world seemed to be against him.
-----
"Hi, I'm La-" the bass voiced blond began, but was cut off.
"Lance Bass. I've been told about you," Justin spat out in annoyance.
Lance perked up for a second, before paling.
"Look, what ever games you're playin', just forget about it." The curly haired boy growled at Lance, and continued, "I've had enough of 'your kind' and your stupid games. So just leave me alone!"
Lance paled even more, slowly got to his feet and made his way to the house. Justin was too busy being angry to see the tears Lance was holding back. He didn't even notice Lance left his sneakers and socks behind.
mmm... Glad to hear about the privates. well, I have a little something in mind about how Justin finds out about Lance and his true feelings, read Chapter 2 and you can probably guess what I'm going to do. As for Nicky... that's a surprise... you might not think it's a sad ending for Nicky, but maybe you will.
*blush* Thank you for your kind words. I love NSyncGrrl and Colleen's stories too. I've probably loved the stories by the others too, but can't remember.
Well, Chapter 3 still isn't started. I have an idea of where to start for Lance and Justin, but only an idea of what to do with Nicky... No, Jc isn't changed by the story.
I'm so excited, I'm going to see the pride parade this weekend! So I don't know when I'll have time to write more... maybe tomorrow, but I don't think I'll finish by then. :(
ok... It was done like the night I said it "still wasn't started." I stayed up past midnight... it just came right out in about three hours. My beta was busy, she became the center of her family and friends out of the blue and wasn't given time to breathe. So she finally beta'd it and all she could say is... well, it was much that she said. :( So here it is. I only changed a few words, that came out wrong after midnight... I caught them not the beta. I will never use a beta again!!!!
"Complications" Chapter 3
Justin was so encompassed by his own self-pity that he tripped over a pair of sneakers and socks when he finally got up from the pool. It's took him all of five seconds to realize they belonged to the boy he yelled at.
Now Justin felt bad. He'd just snapped at Lance for no reason. For a second Justin thought Lance may not have been playing him. 'Why walk away? Couldn't-didn't Lance have enough experience to smooth things over?'
Hope sparked inside Justin as he picked up the pair of sneakers and headed for the house... 'Hey, he couldn't have left without his shoes, right?'
Making his way into the house, Justin realized the party had wound and most of the partygoers had left... or found a room to... well, you get the picture. He found a tall brunette leaning against the doorframe of a closed bathroom door.
"Lance, are you going to spend the whole night in there?" Josh spoke through the door. He really wanted to add, 'Because I really want to go home now.'
Justin was standing at the end of the hallway and hid around the corner, out of sight. He leaned against the wall trying to listening.
"Dude, it couldn't have gone that bad..." Josh tried to sound caring instead of how he really felt, tired and frustrated, "You can't tell me you haven't had a bad first impression before."
Silence.
"Dude, you're suppose to be a player, not a love struck teenager that just got shot down," Josh's frustration breaking through.
But Justin couldn't hear any of Lance's responses; he just wasn't close enough. He leaned closer to the corner, trying to hear more.
"So, you have a crush and stud boy didn't return the favor," Josh yelled, rubbing his temples, "Open the door-"
Josh was cut off as Justin fell to the floor with a load thud.
Justin quickly got to his feet and pretended he didn't just fall. He quickly walked towards the brunette, with sneakers in hand. Stopping in front of the door, Justin raised the sneakers and socks with one hand and point to them with the other and said, "I think he left these by the pool." Justin had the "dear caught in the headlights" look.
Josh smirked as Justin carefully placed the sneakers in front of the door and bolted down the hallway and around the corner, out of sight.
"Dude, stud boy just returned your shoes," Josh laughed as Lance through open the door, revealing his bare feet and crimson face.
Justin just shrugged his shoulders. But he knew why he didn't want to eat in the cafeteria... Lance. He didn't want to see if Lance was hurt. If Lance wasn't hurt, then Justin was just a game to him. If Lance was hurt, then... No he wasn't going to go there.
But... no, no buts.
Justin just sat down under a tree and ate his lunch. Alex rolled his eyes from behind his sunglasses and followed suit with Brian. What they will go through for a friend.
-----
"Dude, he ain't coming," Josh said as he pulled out three meatball sandwiches.
"Who isn't coming?" Nick piped in, making a rare appearance in the cafeteria.
"Justin Timberlake," Lance slouched and taking the meatball sandwich that Josh offered him.
"Timberlake?" The tall blond bit his lip, recognizing the name. Nick pulled out a PDA from his pocket and started scrolling through his hit list. "Dude, I left him hanging... over two months ago."
"Well, Lancey boy here has a thing for him and got shot down," The brunette said with frustration and then bit into his sandwich.
Lance banged his head on the table.
"What? Lance got shot down? No way." Nick was in shock.
"He knew who I was and what I was..." Lance started from the beginning and filled Nick in on all that had happened.
"Wait, he's been here over a month and didn't try to find me?" The tall blond sounded annoyed, then his eyes bulged, "Oh! He was the guy that saw me with Kev."
"Wait he caught you and Kevin having a quickie and you didn't recognize him?" Josh asked in disbelief.
"Well I was busy blowing Kev and I don't have eyes behind my head..." Nick's voice trailed off.
It didn't take long for them to put all the pieces together. Nick got caught playing Justin and Lance was paying for it.
-----
*flush*
"How was I suppose to know he'd come here, find out he'd been played and you'd fall for him?" Nick defended himself after throwing up lunch.
"Nicky, are you ok?" Josh was concerned for him, after all the vomiting.
"I'm ok, just a little morning sickness," Nick said as if it happened to everyone.
"You're pregnant?!?" Lance's anger melted away.
"It's not Justin's is it?" Josh said before he could stop himself.
"What? No!" Nick raised his hand in defense, "It's Kev's... he's the only one I've... been with... ever."
"Wait! You're a player... and you don't have sex with the guys?" Josh was now lost.
"You can be a playing and not have sex," Lance confirmed.
"Why are you defending him? He's the reason you can't have stud boy," Josh seemed even more confused.
"It's called professional courtesy, we both play and we don't hold the other responsible," Nick said, realizing Lance wasn't mad at him.
"Well, I wouldn't put it that way, but that is the jist of it," Lance sighed, knowing if the tables were turned, Nick wouldn't hold it against him.
"So does that mean you're a virgin?" Josh questioned Lance.
"So Nick played you and Lance is a player. That doesn't mean Lance is playing you," Brian, the ultimate optimist, pointed out.
"Dude! It doesn't matter. Lance is a player and you know it. So you aren't being played if you know it's happening and still get laid. You know where you both stand. This is perfect, you need to get over Nick and Lance is interested. You'll move on from Nick and, knowing what Lance is, have no strings attached to Lance." Alex pointed out his point of view.
"It wasn't about doing "it" with Nick. We had a relationship... well I thought we had one," Justin was getting angry, "We didn't have sex."
Justin stood up, "If sex is all Lance wants, then it's good I know about him now instead of after." He stormed off.
"What did he mean by "after"?" Brian asked his boyfriend.
"He's in love," Alex smiled and kissed Brian.
-----
"Look, I don't know anything about Lance. I've never met him or anything, but take it from my experience, not everyone is what they let you see," Brian cornered Justin after school, in the locker room.
Justin tried to push him away, but Brian held him firmly against the wall.
"Take Alex for example, everyone said he was bad news, they said I should stay away from him and they said I was crazy if I wanted to be with him. But where would I be if I had listened to them? I can tell you one thing for sure, I wouldn't be happy... I'm happy and he's good to me... and he's sweet. And if you ever tell him I told you he was sweet, I'd show you how much "bad news" I can be," Brian smirked and walked out of the locker room.
Justin knew one thing; Brian isn't the innocent boy he lets people see.
-----
"Damn it, Lance. Stop being such a pussy," Nick said in the cafeteria. He was having a mood swing and Lance was the focus of his anger.
"Stop sitting there, mopping over him, and go get your boy," Josh added, hoping to keep the focus on Lance.
"Use your player powers, get him, but in the end don't let him go," Nick yelled as he got up to go to the bathroom to pee.
Lance got up and walked across the room to Justin, Alex and Brian. Standing behind Justin, Lance coughed to get his attention. Alex rolled his eyes and Brian smirked, as Justin turned to look up at Lance.
"Hi, could you just give me a chance? Because we could-"
I meant my beta "well, it wasN'T much that she said". So she didn't see anything wrong with it... So no more beta's for me. you'll just get all the mistakes in them.

Complications Chapter 2 part 2
Date: 2005-06-21 05:45 pm (UTC)Justin couldn't get Lance's face out of his mind, but he couldn't get the fact that Lance was a player out either.
TBC... in Chapter 3... no not written yet.

Complications Chapter 3 part 1
Date: 2005-06-28 11:08 pm (UTC)"Complications"
Chapter 3

Complications Chapter 3 part 2
Date: 2005-06-28 11:08 pm (UTC)"Just, why aren't we eating in the café?" Alex said, looking over the top of his sunglasses. Justin, Alex and Brian were outside by the gym, and the sky looked like it was about to rain on them.

Complications Chapter 3 part 3
Date: 2005-06-28 11:09 pm (UTC)"So Nick played you and Lance is a player.
Because we could-"
Justin gave Lance a quick peck on the lips.
"I'll take that as a yes."
The End.
Yes that is the end.
