Can I have a fic based on this:
Lance didn't think he was in love with Chris.
Doesn't need to use that phrasing, just take the idea and see what happens.

part one
Date: 2005-08-10 10:44 am (UTC)That, of course, was the problem. He and Chris had been together a long time, four years in fact, and Lance was quite possibly no longer in love with his own boyfriend.
Life was cruel.
He still loved Chris, always would. But, somehow things were different. There was no longer the rush of joy that overwhelmed him when he got to see Chris after a seperation, or the crazy closeness enduced euphoria that made him giddy when they did spend time together. The sex didn't make him want to scream from the hilltops anymore either. Lance didn't think this was a good thing. But to be sure he spent a lot of time thinking about it.
"What's on your mind lately, oh Bass of mine?" Chris ruffled Lance's hair as he sat down next to him a magazine tucked under an arm. He'd noticed Lance wasn't as 'there' as he usually was.
"Thinking," Lance replied. Lance was caught up in his own thoughts and didn't notice the way Chris was looking at him.
"About?" Chris asked, still watching Lance.
"Us."
"Good stuff or bad stuff?" Chris held his breath.
"I don't know."
Chris read silently, holding his breath until Lance got up to get himself a drink, then let it all out in a whoosh. Chris was in love with Lance. After Dani he'd sworn off the stuff, but hiatus changed things, and Lance made it impossible not to fall in love with him, so fall Chris did. So, when Lance returned, Chris did exactly what he knew he shouldn't. He told Lance how he felt.
"You know I love you, right?" Chris made sure Lance was looking at him when he spoke. He saw the way Lance's eyes got bigger and the brief wash of panic that ran over Lance's features. It said all Chris knew Lance would not. Not until he'd figured out whatever it was he needed to figure. Chris kissed him briefly on the lips and went out back to read alone.
Lance decided life really was cruel. He knew Chris loved him and that was a problem. Chris was a friend and a coworker as well as his lover. Lance knew Chris the friend would hide to lick his wounds, but Chris the coworker was another story. And as much as hiatus had changed things, other things were changing too. It was simply a matter of time before Nsync would be working on a new album, all the indicators were there. Lance didn't think he had enough time to get over Chris before that happened.
And that was what made Lance really think. Getting over Chris. He stopped pondering all the 'what ifs' that were out there and tried to picture his life without Chris in it. Without his black boxerbriefs in a jumble next to Lance's folded white ones. No more raucus Thanksgiving dinners with Chris' family and oh hey, JC's too, because JC looked lost can't we show him some love? A life completely void of random tickle attacks that led to kissing sessions that never got past that. Chris headed off to the studio for a few days and left Lance, still thinking.
Lance spent the next few days living his life and picturing it without Chris. He noticed that breakfast was earlier and more serene wich he liked but that lunch and dinner were exactly the same and what he liked about breakfast was that it seemed a stolen privelage. There was the lack of battling over the remote control. Something else that seemed like fun until Lance realized he hadn't a clue what he really liked to watch because Meet The Press really was boring and Wall Street Week was honestly over his head. Laundry day became simply a chore, which struck Lance as odd. He'd always loved laundry day... the music playing and the sense of getting something accomplished as they made their way through the house.
It was somewhere between picking up the dry cleaning which didn't have the lollipops attached because Lance didn't know where Chris took it, and walking his dogs and it seeming more like work, because Chris wasn't there to run with them, that Lance figured it out.
and the rest.
Date: 2005-08-10 10:44 am (UTC)Lance thought about the warm feeling he had right now. The crazy eggs and bacon smiley face breakfast he'd been given this morning and the mess he knew he'd have to clean up that it left behind. He thought about the fact that he just hadn't been able to imagine his life without Chris exactly where he was.
"I think I'm falling in love with you," he said before closing his eyes to sleep.
Lance didn't think he was in love with Chris, but he was getting there.

You had me worried there, but the ending was just perfect.
Thank you :)
