JC/Lance at Hogwarts
Aug. 17th, 2005 10:52 pmI've been re-reading all the Harry Potter series which led me to have a strange dream about Lance and JC at Hogwarts. Nothing all that interesting...just them taking classes so that means I need to slash it up (or have someone do it for me). I need some wizardy-wand waving (pardon the pun) fic. Please?!?

Date: 2005-09-01 04:19 pm (UTC)JC was a roll with the punches guy, so when he woke up in a four poster bed high in Gryffindor tower he just smiled and wondered if he played Quidditch.
Lance just thought he looked awesome in the cape.
JC followed the rush of students to the great hall where breakfast mysteriously appeared. He was enjoying himself way too much to be worried about not being in his own life, or the studio, which was were he'd gone to sleep. He listened to all the talk around him with a smile on his face. People were talking about spells and wands, O.W.L.S. and there was even two girls giggling and pointing at somebody over at the Slytherin table. That part was fairly normal. Especially when he followed their gaze and realized they were pointing at Lance.
That part was perfectly normal. So much so that it took JC a moment to figure out that it meant Lance was here. At Hogwarts.
JC stood up and started over towards Lance, his smile growing with every step. He got robes and a wand and he was indeed a Quidditch player [Ron Weasley himself, Ron Weasley, had clapped him on the back as he'd headed to his seat and complimented JC on his much improved bludger handling] and now he even got Lance.
"Lance!" JC beamed as he laid his hand on Lance's shoulder.
The entire Slytherin table grew still and silent. They were all watching the exact spot where JC's hand rested on Lance's very black robes. Lance turned his head slowly, drawing his eyes up to look at his friend.
"JC." From Lance, the simple, level greeting was to be expected. After a moment Lance smiled a small smile. JC knew that smile well, it was only for him.
The table remained deafeningly quiet and Lance stood, leaning over to brush a chaste kiss over JC's mouth. Instantly whispers began. Lance gave JC's hand a squeeze before turning and giving the table a cold long look. The whispers died, cut off in mid utterance. It appeared that Lance's Look Of Painful Death worked as well here as it did at home. When Lance turned back to talk to JC normal breakfast conversation had returned to the great hall.
It turned out that Lance and JC only had two classes together, Defense Against The Dark Arts, and Potions. Neither of them liked Snape, though they did recognize he was a good teacher. Lance pointed out there was absolutely no use in feeling anything towards there Dark Arts teacher, he'd only be teaching a year anyway. Sadly, the only free period Lance had, JC had Divination which he loved. Lance mocked him mercilessly.
Lance did turn up at the Quidditch pitch upon occasion to watch JC practice. He was bad. Horrid even, but JC was having so much fun he didn't care. Lance would sit with his homework, working diligently until JC was called up. Then he would set aside his book and watch JC with the same concentration. JC was getting better.

Date: 2005-09-01 04:20 pm (UTC)Friday night was the only time they had committed time together and when that started being interrupted by more practice and Lance's sudden involvement in S.P.E.W. they started 'sneaking around'. With Voldermort on the loose Hogwarts was under strict rules and real free time was at a minimum. At first it was simple stolen moments in broom closets [a hugely different thing here] and the random long way taken to a destination. Once Gryffindor House got involved, it changed a bit. Suddenly it was days when JC's practice started fifteen minutes before everyone else’s and study session where Lance only had one study buddy. It was one of those nights when they were caught, books strewn messily across a desk and robes equally rumpled.
After having both Snape and McGonagall deducting 10 points each from their houses, Lance and JC had to live with the shared classes and mealtime glances. Finally Slytherin house got involved. Anything that pushed the rules, broke boundaries and was considered cool in the sly way was right up their ally. Beside all those things, Lance had taken to sulking around their common room. He was highly unpleasant when he sulked.
JC was shocked when Lance first appeared in the fireplace of his dorm room. He’d had no idea that it was part of the network. But, as the rest of his dorm mates were downstairs he happily curled up in Lance lap, kissing greedily at his neck.
“I don’t like not being able to see you.”
Lance nodded. He was ok with being 17 again, he didn’t mind that he was in a world where actual real evil was trying to overrun the known universe and he’d gotten very used to JC’s slight British accent. He missed the guys though. And singing.
“We’ll be ok. We have each other.” Lance kissed JC again, a little greedy, a lot hot and the topic was dropped.
After that JC never brought it up again. He and Lance threw themselves into their studies and by the early winter had returned to the happy sneaking twosome. Both houses were joined, finally, in a common goal. Keep the lovebirds together. Gryffindor adored JC, his boundless enthusiasm and the sheer and utter joy he showed any time he mastered even the simplest of spells. He sang whenever the mood hit him and they all had to admit he had a nice voice.
Slytherin didn’t adore Lance, since adoring things wasn’t exactly their thing. They did have a healthy amount of respect for his darker side though. He was also the best student any of them had seen outside of Hermione Granger. On the whole they’re grades had all gone up.

Date: 2005-09-01 04:20 pm (UTC)So the impromptu rendezvous’ kept occurring. Lance found himself in the Room of Requirement more than once and there was a very memorable afternoon after a forgetful potion didn’t work quite the way it was designed. All in all it was a good time for them and when the Christmas holidays came they were happy and settled. Even with no homes to go to, they remained behind at Hogwarts reveling in the time they got to spend together.
Christmas morning dawned clear and cold. They opened gag gifts from all their friends and more special gifts from each other. Owls arrived with notes from other friends and finally a small package apparated on the table in the library where they were studying.
Inside was a portkey and a note.
We miss you, come home.
