I've watched too many Andy Rooney/Judy Garland "let's put on a show!" movies lately.

I want a "backstage" story. I'm thinking a Community Playhouse type of situation with everyone in their teens/twenties, etc. AU, of course. It's the yearly production and the dramas to go along with it. Actors, stage crew, director. Slash pairings, het pairings, no pairings. Your choice. I want Lance & Howie to be/get together, though. So use the popworld and twist it around. Just snapshots of scenes, if necessary.

I want Lance to play Charlemagne, because I want him to sing War is a Science. But really, Joey would do so much better. Lance is sort of the chorus type, sadly.

JC is the Player. Period.

Pippin: Nick or Brian, not sure which. Both of them seem to have the right feel to me. I lean towards Brian, actually, which would leave Nick in the chorus.

Lewis: Now here's where I see Justin, and not just because of the close relationship with his mother. Or it could be AJ, either one would work.

Fastrada: I'm not really up on the girls, but I think that Christina maybe has enough charisma for this one.

Whats-her-name(the widow) Mary Sue! come on, you know she is. She needs to be vain and clueless, but have a heart of gold underneath that. Britney?

Grandma: Chris. In drag. With beard horns. Plus, he gets to be worshipped by scantily clad men.

Small Loveable Boy: Aaron at 12

Heh Nick and Lance in the chorus. During the Frolicing Number. The mind...wanders.

And I would pay damn good money to see JC as the Player. The only other role I can think of off the top of my head he would fit just as perfectly would be Frank N. Furter from Rocky Horror.

the casting for this is quite nice. Howie? Kevin? I can see Kevin as the director and Howie as stage manager more than actually in the show.
