I'm preparing to take my husband in for minor surgery, and I'd like to request some h/c Howie/Nick, please. Something sweet and loving.

Thanks

I hope everything went okay with your husbands surgery! Here's a little bit of Howie/Nick, hope you like it.

Howie sniffled and wrapped himself tighter into his blanket. Paper towels were scattered all around him. He was cold, his head hurt, and he felt quite miserable. Being sick just sucked. In more ways than one, because all his friends had abandoned him with the poor excuse that they didn't want to bother him, which was just a way of telling him that they wanted to be as far away from his diseased self.

He was alone and feeling queasy. He sniffled again, throwing another paper towel on the pile on the ground.

The knock on his door startled him and he croaked out a "come in." His throat was scratchy and hurt as well.

"Hey," Nick said, holding a large tray in front of him. "I, uh, thought you might be hungry and I got you a bowl of chicken soup."

Howie smiled. "Thanks."

"I also got you something for your throat and some cold medicine and there was this bottle of vitamins and I don't know if they'll help, but they can't hurt, right?"

Nick babbled, which Howie found quite endearing. "Right," he answered. The smell of the soup made his stomach turn, but it was the thought that counted and it was more than his other friends had done for him.

Nick shuffled his feet "Uh, should I feed you? My mom always fed me soup when I was little," he added, blushing.

"No!" Howie was decidedly too old to be fed. "Just put the tray on the table, thanks."

"Okay," Nick said. He put the tray on the table and then turned to look at Howie. He seemed to be nervous, but Howie didn't know why he would be. They were friends, they had known each other for a long time, there was nothing to be nervous about.

"Can I stay?" Nick almost stumbled over his words. "I can go if you want, but maybe you want some company. We could watch TV or something."

"That'd be great." Howie smiled.

"Cool." Nick grinned and plopped down on Howie's bed, jostling Howie. "Uh, sorry."

"No problem." And it wasn't a problem. Howie already felt a lot better with Nick next to him. Maybe it was his imagination, but his head hurt less.

"You sure you're not hungry?"

"I'm sure." He snuggled closer to Nick's body and Nick wrapped his arm around his shoulders. "This is good."

"Good," Nick mumbled in his ear, kissing him on his temple.

Nice, was the last thing he thought, before he fell asleep. When he woke up a few hours later, wrapped around Nick's body, he already felt so much better. Sometimes being sick wasn't that bad when you had someone to wrap yourself around.
