I have added
ephemera_pop as a mod. We're gonna see if we can get this place up and running again.
Any of you have any ides? We're open to suggestions, drop them off in a comment.
I am leaving for the rest of the weekend here in about half an hour. If anyone has any suggestions or questions just drop a comment here or email one of us.

Date: 2005-02-20 09:58 am (UTC)I don't see an easy fix for that, except maybe to make it clear whether or not we're welcome to write for a request that already has been answered. I wasn't doing that because I didn't want to be seen as trying to show someone up or something, but if it was clear upfront that multiple responses were ok, I would have more to write. Or if that's not allowed, then make that clear as well.
I also noticed that sometimes I would come looking for something to write, and everything from the last week had a comment already. Without clicking them I'd assume they'd been fulfilled, but for a while there we were getting a lot of comments agreeing with the request. Perhaps if there were a rule that the first comment to a post must be a ficlet?
The only problem I have with keeping track of how often someone writes is that then those who do not write may feel intimidated about making requests, which is not what we want.
I also see logistical problems with keeping track, especially if it is decided to encourage multiple replies to a request. Who has time to go back and check old posts and see if a second story was added? My suggestion, if we go the stats route, is to have a mod post every week/month/fortnight/17 days/ whatever. When someone writes a ficlet, they comment on the mod post with a link to their fic. At the end of the period, the mod collates all those links into a summary post, and then makes a new mod post for collecting links. That way we're only looking at activity in the last period, not cumulative, and the poor mod doesn't go insane.

Date: 2005-02-20 09:09 pm (UTC)I suspect the latter. I like thinking out logistics and all, I'm just no good at carrying things out myself :)
