Holy cow batman. Sorry about that last. Shouldn't read pairings at 4:30 in the morning. Although I kinda liked that one too.

Brian hit the back button on the cd player. His eyes closing as he heard the opening strains of the song. The words washing over him as the low voice crooned through the headphones. His mouth curved as he listened to Kevin singing of want and need and love. The angst of the lyrics a bittersweet counterpoint to the meaning behind them. The letter that lay on his chest explained everything. Things that Kevin had been unable to say to him.

He understood the medium. It had always been difficult for Kevin to put a voice to his emotions. He showed people he loved them through actions. This time through music. Everything that had gone on before was summed up here on one recordable CD. The late night calls ‘just because’. Attempting to share his frustration over the albums and tours and being on hiatus. Brian had known for a long time that his affections ran deep for Kevin, but really had no idea of the depth of Kevin’s feeling for him.

His chest tightened as Kevin repeated chorus after chorus of promise and Brian felt a tear slide down the side of his face. He knew how difficult it had been for the older man to get to this point. Almost as difficult as it had been for Brian to ignore his feelings for so long. His finger traced over the repeat button as the song ended again, thinking he would play it one more time.

Then he stopped. Enough time had passed between them to let this wait any longer. It was time to start forever. He could hardly wait.

LOL Sorry about the lyrics. I forgot some don't know the song. I'll have to remember that next time.
